Up we get to another day, feeling a little flat. It's only 8am. Marjan goes down to reception to find out what our options are. He returns sooner then I hoped. No luck, all the hotels we tried are booked. Decision is made, the apartment it is. Marjan calls the agency and books the apartment. It won't be ready until 12 midday.
Off to breakfast we go and enjoy the last use of the hotel. Back up to our room pack our bags and out the door we go. Good-bye pool, good-bye view. Bozenka again at reception, is extremely apologetic, and advises that we can come and use the pool, whenever we want. Good-bye Hotel Borak, we will be back.
It's only 10am and we have a few hours to kill. The temperature is already 32 degrees, so we go down to the Zlatni Rat beach. This is an unusual thumb-shaped gravel beach, voted as one of Croatia's best beaches. We get there find a shady spot, and in the water go the boys. We chill out and relax for the morning before we can check into our apartment.
It's just after midday when we decide to head off and finalise our accommodation. We drive to the agency and then straight down to the apartment they take us. The narrow, windy streets - alley ways are a killer with our car. This explains why everyone drives small cars in Croatia.
We get to the aprtment and are delighted with what we see. The apartment is beautiful and spacious. It overlooks the beach and promenade, just as described and explained. The location is fantastic, and inside is nicely finished. We are very happy with our great find. Much better than expected. We couldn't have found better if we tried.
We unpack our car and settle in. Relax for the afternoon, have some lunch and a quick afternoon siesta. Late afternoon we head down to the beach, that's straight in front of the apartment. A 50m walk to the water. Couldn't be any easier, even if we tried, even for Emil. Straight down we go. The beach and water are absolutely amazing. The nicest beach that we has seen by far. The water is so crystal clear and cool. It's more a rock beach, but not too rocky. In we all go, cool down and just relax.
We stay down by the water for a couple of hours before we head back to the apartment to freshen up for dinner.
For dinner we walk to Bol centre and have dinner at a little outdoor restaurant along the water. Emil had a slavonska (meat lovers) pizza, Marjan ordered dagnje na buzaru (mussels in a white wine and tomato sauce) and I have a sea bass fillet with veggies. Dinner was lovely.
After dinner we have another stroll through the center. Emil gets a tattoo, then we stop off at a little kafic (cafee bar) in an alley way to watch Zadar vs Dinamo live on a big outdoor screen and have a couple of drinks.
Then back to the apartment. Home just before 11pm. Watch some TV and then to bed.
