Off to Zadar

Today we get up really early, 7am. We pack our bags, pack the car, say good-bye and thank-you to Marina for everything that she has done over the past week and then we are on our way.

We had a 40 minute drive to the ferry, another 50 minute ride on the ferry and then 2 hour drive to Zadar. We get to Zadar and our hotel just after 1.30pm. We are staying at Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik resort. We can't check into our room until 3pm, but can use all the facilities of the hotel. All our meals and most drinks are included - breakfast, lunch and dinner.  We are informed that lunch finishes at 2pm, and it's best to go straight there and have something to eat, so off to lunch we go.  The restaurant is massive and the display of food looks great, also so much to choose from. Where do we start? We don't know, but here goes. We eat lunch and I think we all over do it, we are stuffed, and I mean stuffed.  We finish lunch and then decide to go for a tour of the resort. 

In we go and WOW. The resort is huge. The pool is huge.  All Emil can see is the water-slide. We go for a little walk and the beach is just through a gate. This is going to be so easy.

With time to kill and seeing we can't get into our room, we decide that the only thing to do is.... go for a swim. Emil straight into the pool, no stopping him.  In and out, in and out, up and down, up and down, the slide is getting a workout. Emil is in his element. Temperature is 32 degrees.

It's just after 3pm, we go get our room keys and straight up to our room. Wow, it's big and we have a pretty view outside from our balcony. We can see old Zadar Town, the marina, and a glimpse of the beach.

We put our bags in and then straight back down to the pool. We stay there for the rest of the day. Emil has also found the kids club. Straight in he goes. We had to drag him away from there to have dinner tonight. 

Back up to the room around 6pm, to freshen up for dinner. Dinner is served and it's a smorgasbord of food. Too much, don't know what to choose.  We have dinner, then go for a walk around the resort again.  They have a stage set up just in front of the pool area and people are sitting on some steps looking towards the stage. An announcement is made that there is going to be a performance/show, and to take your seats. We sit down and shortly the show starts. The performance is Grease - performed by the entertainers at the hotel. Not that good, but Emil loved it. After it finished, back up to our room we go for some more relax-o time. Emil falls asleep quickly and Marjan and I watch some TV. Lights out soon after, we had an early start today.
