It's a beautiful morning today, and about 25 degrees. We get to Nin and it looks so pretty. We park on the other side of the bridge so no need to walk across the bridge. There is stone wall, with an archway. We walk in under the archway and straight into Nin - stari grad (old town). We stop at a little cafe as soon as you walk in and have a drink, coffee and some juice.
Kum Pipi, do you like my sweatband? Walked around Nin and no one dared to touch me !! I hope you like it because I got you one.
We look around and can see that everything has changed from when we where here 14 years ago. There are all stalls, shops, cafes, restaurants, everywhere along the main alleyway into Nin. Also the streets seem to have more cobble stones than we remember or it is just alot cleaner. It looks so pretty and very clean.
We walk around a little, it's not very big, so you can get around easily, even with Emil. We look around and find the Grgur Ninski statue (Bishop Gregory Nin), Crkva Sv. Kriza (The Church of the holy Cross), Rimski Hram (the remains of the biggest Roman Temple on the Adriatic sea),
Also what l believe to be my Grandmothers birth house...
We walk a little more and then visit a few of the stores. Back out under the arch to get out and then over the bridge. Can't have come all this way and then not walk over the bridge.
After this we go visit the cemetery and go find the grave site of my grandfather on my mums side. I never knew my grandfather. My mother never knew her father either as he passed away before she was born. My grandmother was 3 months pregnant with my mum, when he passed away. After searching the cemetry, we finally find the grave site. It's better presented than I expected. We have a quiet moment, explain to Emil who he is and then head off.
We head back to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon. The temperature is about 30 degrees. We get back and have a quick lunch together, then head out by the pool. Spend the remainder of the day by the water. Emil enjoying our company.
One thing this resort is not short on is the food that they provide. As we have already mentioned, all our meals are included, breakfast, lunch and dinner, however between 3pm and 6pm they also have a BBQ set up outside the pool in case anyone is still hungry. Sausages, hamburgers, pork belly etc... Today they had chicken wings and Emil was hungry so he demolished a few. Not a bad thing as he didn't have too much for lunch today.
Emil spends most of the day with us, until he sees the kids club team and then determines that he wants to go to the kids club. So off we let him go. He spends most of the afternoon with them and even has dinner with them again. How much dinner and what, is the question.
So once again, Marjan and I get time to ourselves, it's nice but strange. We relax by the pool and then head up by 6pm to freshen up before dinner. We get to dinner and tonight's theme is Dalmacija. To our surprise they have 2 prsuts at the salad bar, that you cut up and help yourself to. Rather cool. We enjoyed this alot. The prsut was good. We even managed to get Emil to come and join us for some prsut. He enjoyed this alot.
After dinner, yes another disco and yes, again, Emil has to be there. Up on stage, dancing around and having a great time. He is unbelievable, and really, really cute to watch.
After this we head up to go to our room, but on the way stop off at the games area, while Marjan and Emil have a games of air hockey, Dad lost of course, 4-1.
Then back upto our room, we take a few photos out on the balcony
then play some more Uno before we all head off to bed..
